UPDATE 1-Konecranes to buy Terex unit, full merger scrapped

HELSINKI, May 16 (Reuters) - Finnish crane maker Konecranes

is buying Terex Corp's Material Handling &

Port Solutions (MHPS) unit for 1.13 billion euros ($1.27

billion), in a move that cancels a proposed full merger and

allows the U.S. firm to talk to a rival suitor.
