U.S. tracked N. Korean submarine-launched missile -defense official

WASHINGTON, Aug 23 (Reuters) - The United States detected

and tracked a North Korean submarine-launched missile which flew

about 300 miles (480 km) before splashing into the Sea of Japan,

a U.S. defense official said on Tuesday.
