NOAA buys first commercial satellite weather data

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., Sept 15 (Reuters) - The U.S.

government on Thursday awarded its first contracts to buy

weather data from commercial satellite operators, the National

Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said.
